What makes for a great personal domain name? How about one that you can say over the phone once, and the person on the other end not only spells it correctly, but doesn’t need to ask you to repeat it!
ChrisTheComputerGuy.com is actually the result of a joke made in 1999 by my father. As the story goes a co-worker in another city of my father sent him home one day to ask if “that computer guy” could come over. With all of the full name .com’s taken for Chris Lange, I thought this would be a great idea for a personal domain name! At some point I could even advertise my personal services on this domain.
Of course I’ve spent a good part of the last 10 years with a simple smiley face on the home page, but as a personal domain its great. I never have to repeat my email address over the phone at least!
